This is a pre-mixed loading buffer with two tracking dyes for Agarose and non-denaturing Poylacrylamide Gel Electrophoresis.
The buffer contains Bromophenol Blue and Xylene Cyanol as the standard tracking dyes for electrophoresis, an Editic acid salt for chelating divalent metal ions to inhibit metal-dependent nucleases and a simple polyol compound to increase the density of the sample when mixed with it.
On 1% Agarose gels, Bromophenol Blue migrates with 300bp linear double-stranded DNA fragment, and Xylene Cyanol FF migrates with a 4kb linear double-stranded DNA fragment. This is not significantly affected in Agarose gels with different concentration (0.5 to 1.4%).
